Discover the winegrowers of Barjac

The Cave Coopérative, founded in 1929, currently has 50 members and produces an average of 20,000 hectolitres from 300 hectares of vines. It includes the neighboring communes of Barjac, Saint-Privat-de Champclos and Montclus in the Gard department, and Bessas and Vagnas in the Ardèche department.

The cooperative's winegrowers use integrated pest management, adapting treatments according to field observations and cryptogamic risks.

Production has diversified with the planting of recommended grape varieties (Grenache, Syrah, Cabernet-Sauvignon, Merlot, Marselan Chardonnay...) on soils of very diverse geological natures.

Soil knowledge, yield control, the planting of appropriate grape varieties, the know-how and solidarity of the cooperators have enabled the development necessary for the production of quality wines in the Côtes du Vivarais, IGP Oc and IGP Côteaux de l'Ardèche appellations.

Our wines have been awarded the HVE (High Environmental Value) label! This is government recognition of winegrowers' commitment to preserving the environment and the biosphere on their farms.
