And now The Théâtropes are back for their 21st edition, transforming the Château de Barjac into an ephemeral theatre once again..

The political, economic and social context is worrying. Not to mention the geopolitical context.

The Théâtropes team has always believed that the arts and culture have an important part to play in the development of our societies. 

Yes, we are activists. We campaign for free and independent popular education.

We are campaigning for fair and balanced access to all forms of culture, everywhere, for everyone. We are campaigning for an emancipating voice, one that will nourish minds, develop reflection and finally engage in debates about ideas on a sound basis. 

Culture can and should be a source of entertainment, to take our minds off the worries of everyday life. But it is also a place where we can come together to heal the faults of society. 

This year, at a time when the cultural world is under attack from all sides, both ideologically and financially, we've decided to be even more militant! There will be no shortage of traditional events on the bill for this year's edition, to ensure that the weekend is above all a time for meeting and sharing!
